Every now and then, something good does happen to television, and it's a cause for celebration, because – as readers of these ramblings know – hardly anything good ever gets decided by those in charge, at least not in LA.
But if there is something good, one should point it out and say, go and watch this. It will make you fear your neighbour. It will make you love strangers. It will give you your time's worth.
On October 31st, in the USA, on AMC...
... it gives you the best new televsion show in years, and yes, it has in it zombies. THE WALKING DEAD. It is not about zombies. It is about people. People in very bad situations. It's about humanity. It's about how far we are willing to go to protect the ones we love.
It's a western. It's a road movie. It's everything television should be. It was created by Robert Kirkman as a comic book series, and it will rock your ass.
Watch it. And be afraid. Be very afraid.
