HERE'S AN IDEA FOR IRELAND... STOP GIVING CORPORATE BLOW JOBS, AND YOU MIGHT NOT BE IN FUCKING DEBT!

I know, novel, right? I am not going to link to the gazillion reports coming out right now that Ireland is near bankruptcy (they are all over the web), but the fact alone that this is the country that allows for the so-called Irish Double (that Jesse Drucker of Bloomberg News wrote about so eloquently), which is one of the reasons, nay, the main reason that transnational corporations like Google and Intel (and soo, Facebook) can run around and pay effective tax rates of 2.4 percent...

... the actual blog posting about that is just a little further down...

... should disqualify them from getting any aid from the European Union. It's a country whose jobs growth in the past twenty years was heavily subsidised. It's a country that had no problem using low tax rates to yank jobs from other European countries. Getting itself into one of them, whatchamacallit? Ah, yes. Bubbles. That's what it was. A bubble. And now you are whining, Ireland? Really?

Let me tell you this. Stop your assistance to global corporate crime.

Then we can talk.
